FOUNDER STORY: ANTHONY “TONY” HO
Anthony Ho, fondly known as Tony hails from Suva, where he grew up in a modest flat shared with his six siblings, his father, a storekeeper, and his mother, a market vendor. Witnessing his parents struggles as first-generation Chinese immigrants along with their resilience and grit left an indelible mark on Tony’s upbringing which eventually shaped his professional career and philanthropic passions.
Anthony attended Marist Brothers Primary, Marist Brothers Secondary where he was dux in his final year and developed his love for table tennis. He pursued his higher education at Auckland University, earning a bachelor’s degree and master’s in accounting. Anthony’s path led him through various roles in esteemed firms like Ernst and Young. Alongside this, he ventured into entrepreneurship, managing an aquarium fish export business, and operating two hotels within Suva.
Inspired by his roots and a deep love for Fiji, it’s people and community Tony founded Anthony Ho & Associates in 1990 and obtained his CPA to practice in Fiji and New Zealand. Eventually AHA Financial & Taxation Services was established in 2012 which he co-owned with his daughter, Lina Ho. Anthony’s upbringing and love for Fiji motivated him to establish a financial services practice focused on bridging financial gaps for small businesses, non-profits, and sole traders. Anthony firmly believed that with the right financial guidance, his parents, and others like them could achieve great success.
Tony was a unique soul, a black sheep in his own way, driven by myriad passions. Disenchanted with the rigid confines of corporate life, he charted his own course as an entrepreneur, founding AHA to forge a path aligned with his vision. His passion for table tennis not only fueled his spirit but also became a catalyst for change in Fiji. Through scholarships and community initiatives, Tony's dedication brought hope and opportunities to countless Fijians. His commitment was recognized on Fiji's 50th Independence celebration, where Anthony stood among 50 honored citizens for his transformative work in Fiji Table Tennis and his historic role as the first South Pacific Islander on the Board of Directors for Oceania Table Tennis within the International Table Tennis Federation. When not immersed in AHA or shaping Fiji's sporting landscape, Tony could often be found in the kitchen, blending local flavors into culinary masterpieces that delighted friends and family alike.
Today, three decades later, AHA remains committed to Anthony’s vision and legacy. Our mission is to uplift local business owners, non-profits, and entrepreneurs by helping them achieve financial success, knowledge and stability.
